Egypt’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Yasser Al-Qadi, met with Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor High Tech and Electronics solutions, to discuss the company’s investment plans in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Asmaa Hosni, CEO of Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), as well as ITIDA’s leaders in India, the Middle East, and Africa.

During the meeting, Phillips reviewed his reasons to choose the Egyptian market as a new destination for the company. He praised the availability of qualified technical cadres in Egypt, pointing out that his company aims to benefit from the supportive business atmosphere and sustainable local growth of the information technology sector. In addition, he referred to the ongoing economic reforms that began to show promising results.

In this context, the minister reviewed the state efforts to enable the technological cadres to compete in international markets based on their skills in advanced technologies. He also stressed the role of the ministry and its affiliate agencies in launching a number of initiatives and projects to provide skilled technological cadres who can meet the requirements of companies operating in Egypt.

Al-Qadi pointed out that the ministry offered many incentives to investors in technological parks, adding that several companies and global factories want to benefit from these opportunities.

Phillips’ visit comes upon Al-Qadi’s invitation during his meetings with the company’s leaders in March in New York, where the first round of talks was held.

Infor provides software and technology applications for enterprises, and it has about 15,000 developers and employees in 41 countries serving about 90,000 customers worldwide.
