Motorola is ranked third in Egypt, possessing 7% of the market share

About 15m Lenovo Moto family mobile devices were sold in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2016 worldwide, including 2m Moto Z devices, said Sharif Salem, director of smart phone sales at Lenovo Egypt, the owner of the Motorola brand.

Salem added that the company expects to sell 3m devices by the end of 2017.

“Motorola’s global market share amounts to 4.9%, excluding the Chinese market, occupying the fourth world place in terms of market share,” Salem stated.

In Egypt, Motorola’s market share is estimated at 7%, ranking the third in the domestic market, while it owns 22.4%, 21.8, and 9.9% market shares in the UAE, Brazil, and India respectively.

It comes on the sidelines of the press conference held by the company to launch its new moto G5.
